How Rapid Weight Loss Programs Work

losing weight

No one really wants to lose weight “eventually”. If you’re in the process of a diet or a weight loss program, you want to lose weight as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the vast majority of programs out there are geared towards gradually losing weight. That’s simply because that is how the body works – it’s simply not natural to shed pounds too quickly, because your body will fight you all the way to the last ounce. If you want to make sure that you lose weight, though, you can seek out a program that helps you to drop pounds quickly.

What most people want is a rapid weight loss program. These programs really do work in defiance of nature, helping most people to lose pounds incredibly quickly. There are dozens of variations on the theme, but the general gist of every program is tricking your body and metabolism into using up calories quickly, burning off fat, and generally ignoring its instinct to continue storing fat. As you can imagine, these programs are very difficult to sustain over the long-term, but the short term benefits can be astonishing. What matters most, then, is finding the right program.

The first type of program is typically used by athletes trying to make weight before a big fight, and generally relies on losing temporary weight. There are dozens of programs out there that can help you to lose so-called water weight, easily dropping five pounds or so from your scales with only a day or two’s effort. These programs are incredibly dangerous for a number of reasons, and they almost always lead to rebounding numbers on the scale after a short break. These are the programs best used for an incredibly temporary weight drop, and should be used sparingly – if at all.

The next type of rapid loss program tends to rely on body confusing in one way or another. Programs that focus on cutting out carbohydrates or sugars, for example, tend to have remarkably quick losses over the course of the first few weeks. These programs should always be examined carefully, though, as there are some side effects that can accompany the loss of certain elements in your diet. They do, however, work as a safer alternative than the drastic loss programs that help you to shed only water weight. Many people report short-term success with programs that encourage them to make radical changes to their diet.

Some programs use diet and exercise in tandem with another element to help dieters to lose ten or fifteen pounds quickly, with the remainder of their weight coming off slowly. Some of these plans, like intermittent fasting, involve eating at certain times of the day or only on certain days. Other plans involve eating only a specific type of food, or limiting your calories. In any case, most of the weight loss in the program happens during the first few weeks, with other pounds coming off gradually due to better eating habits and exercise.

If you want to lose weight, it is a good idea to get with a program that values long-term losses over quickly shedding pounds. There’s nothing wrong with looking to lose a little weight in a short period of time, but you shouldn’t rely on such methods for any kind of long-term change. Losing weight is very much an issue that many will struggle with for the rest of their lives, and there is no quick fix. Finding a method that allows you to kickstart your process quickly and fills you with confidence, though, can be a great way to start shedding pounds.
